History Assassinations

If you like my website, and/or if you've found it useful, please consider making a small donation to my Just Giving page, which I've set up just for this purpose. To begin with I'm collecting for a charity whose work I have benefitted from myself (and continue to do so): the British Heart Foundation. It would be great to raise £100 in the first month.

If you have already donated ... Thank You!

Assassinations

This category covers people in the public eye who were murdered for political or ideological reasons – or, in some cases, simply by attention–seekers.

Where the victim's name (and their occupation or claim to fame) are in italics, this means that the assassination attempt was unsuccessful.

I haven't hidden the identities of the culprits, where they aren't known (or particularly well–known). Similarly, I haven't hidden the locations, where they're either fairly unremarkable (for example, if it was in the capital city of the victim's home country) or if they're particularly obscure. In other words, if I don't think they're likely to be asked in quizzes.
