Varieties (Fruit & Veg)

I like to eat fruit and vegetables, but I don't grow them and I don't even buy them very often; so I'm no expert. I resisted the temptation to include this subject in my database for many years, not least because of the bewildering number of candidates for inclusion. But my object in creating this database (website) is to cover as many quiz questions as I can, so in the end I decided I had to go with it.

This is a list of varieties that I've seen mentioned in quizzes subsequently, or come across while verifying others. I have verified that they are all bona fide varieties, but I have no idea which are most common, which are related to each other, etc. etc. I know that some of these are properly described as cultivars, but probably not all of them. If setting questions based on this list, please make sure you know what you're asking!
