Everest is in the Mahalangur section of the Himalayas, on the border between Nepal and China (Tibet). K2 is in the Karakoram range and
wholly in Pakistan, although the Karakoram extends into India and China. Kangchenjunga gives its name to the section of the Himalayas that
it belongs to, and is on the border between Nepal and India.
