Abbreviations: Text Speak

If you've spent much time on this website, you probably know that I didn't grow up using text messaging. In fact I use it like a really old person – hardly ever, and with proper grammar whenever possible. But how much fun is text speak?!

IMHO (see what I did there?) it doesn't come up nearly often enough in quizzes – maybe because it's too well known to most people. But it does occasionally.

Here's a selection of some of the more quizzable ones – leaving out the obvious ones, the X–rated ones, and the ones that are sometimes listed as text speak but have actually been around since Adam was a lad.
