UK Prime Ministers: Classified
This page lists every UK prime minister in chronological order, giving the party they belonged to (where appropriate)
and the years they served. It also gives other significant facts (in the Notes column).
For No. 37, and from No. 39 onwards, the final column (in the rows for their
final terms only) gives the year in which they died, for those that are
deceased.
The second table gives the first and last prime ministers for every king and queen (since the office
of prime minister was created).
For other details about individual prime ministers, see UK Prime Ministers: Details.

Titles
Up until the end of the 19th century, the majority of Britain's Prime Ministers were members of the aristocracy, and thus
the House of Lords. It's not unheard of to be given the name of one of these Prime Ministers and asked for his title.
This table does not include those whose titles included their surnames: Lord (Frederick) North, Baron (William)
Grenville, Earl (Charles) Grey, or Lord (John) Russell.
